An August Dinner

An August Dinner is a fundraising event that aims to raise money for Stories of Movement, a collection of stories that will culminate in a coffee table book in November of 2026. It’s also an opportunity to build intracultural ties, network with like minded individuals and an opportunity to create meaningful impact.

Your presence and support make archiving stories possible. This evening is designed to connect changemakers who believe that culture is infrastructure, worthy of protecting. Storytelling has shaped policy, determined who belongs, and impacted lives.

Funds raised will directly sustain the next phase of this project, including travel, production costs, and fair compensation for the artists, writers, and collaborators whose labor makes the work possible.

Join us for a beautiful night with a curated menu and a preview of some of the stories and photos we’ve collected thus far.

A Storytelling Luncheon

This fundraising brown bag luncheon brings together an intimate circle of supporters who want to discuss the importance of archiving memory and storytelling. We will gather to advance Stories of Movement, a collection of Haitian stories from around the world. It’s also an opportunity to build intracultural ties, network with like minded individuals and an opportunity to create meaningful impact.

Your presence and your generosity directly impacts the next phase of this project: supporting research travel, interviews, production, and public-facing programs that ensure these stories are preserved and told with dignity.

This paper bag luncheon is BYOBBL--bring your own brown bag lunch. This gathering is intentionally simple so that resources are directed to the project and to invoke nostalgia of childhood memories.
